Hello, I’m Malea and my preferred pronouns are She/Her/Hers. I was born and raised in northern Washington and I go to UW Bothell where I plan to major in Biology with a minor in neuroscience. This upcoming year I will get to serve my 3rd year on the board of FASA sa UWB as upcoming Senior Advisor after serving as Cultural Chair (2017-2018), and President (2018-2019). I will also serve on the board of NWFASA this year as Secretary of Events and Programming.

I’m Nate, pronouns are he/him/his. My home town is Union City but I live in Daly City now. I go to SFSU and I’m majoring in Asian American Studies and minoring in Race and Resistance Studies. I just ended my term with PACE as Hxstory coordinator and now I am the incoming Community Action and Dialogue Chairperson for NCPASA.

My name is De Alarik Ojeda or Dee for short and I’m the Chairperson of SCPASA (Southern California Pilipinx-American Student Alliance). My preferred pronouns are he/him/his. I was born in San Jose but was raised in Milpitas, CA. In 2011, I moved to Southern California and graduated from UC Irvine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with a Concentration in Biochemistry in 2015. I am currently at Pasadena City College (PCC) in the Dental Hygiene Program and pursuing my dream to become a Dentist. I was the President of the Filipinx organization, TROPA (The Reunited Organization of Pilipinx-Americans), at PCC and was the Vice Chairperson of SCPASA last year.

Hi everybody! I’m Rio, and my preferred pronouns are he/him/his. I grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, and I’m a student in the Master of Human Resource Management program at The Ohio State University. I am also the Vice President External for the Midwest Association of Filipino Americans (MAFA). This is my second year on the executive board of MAFA, and I’m excited to continue my involvement with the organization.

What’s up, I am Janrei Villavicencio and I proudly represent the Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue also known as FIND INC. My preferred pronouns are he/him/his. I currently hold the position of National Chairperson and study Communications at the University of North Florida. I have spent a total of 5+ years working and volunteering with multiple Filipino related organizations from local non-profits, to national organizations like NaFFAA & FIND Inc. I am currently doing an internship at The Filipino Channel with ABS-CBN.

My name is John Catral and my preferred pronouns are he/him/his. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX, and I currently attend the University of Texas at Dallas. I am studying IT/Accounting and am one of the Co-Presidents of SIFA (Southern Intercollegiate Filipino Alliance).
East Coast Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue (FIND Inc.), Midwest Association of Filipino Americans (MAFA), Southern Intercollegiate Filipino Alliance (SIFA). Northwest Filipino-American Student Alliance (NWFASA), Northern California Pilipino American Student Alliance (CPASA), Southern California Pilipino American Student Alliance (SCPASA) will share challenges and best practices with each other in hopes of taking what they’ve learned back to their respective communities.

Workshop: An Approach to Self, Org and Community Leadership

Joel Jacinto has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and recently completed service as Commissioner on the Los Angeles City Board of Public Works. Jacinto served as long-time executive director of Search To Involve Pilipino Americans (SIPA), a community-based organization that empowers youth, families and businesses through health and human services, community economic development and through a community center that serves as a place for collaboration and partnership. Throughout his career, Jacinto has been active in networks and coalitions that advocate for diverse communities, especially underserved and low to moderate income populations. Jacinto is also co-founder and program director of the cultural arts organization, Kayamanan Ng Lahi.

Since 1997, the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) has been the standard-bearer for promoting the welfare and well-being of the four million Filipinos and Filipino Americans throughout the United States. NaFFAA is the largest non-partisan, non-profit organization and national affiliation of Filipino American institutions, umbrella organizations, and individuals. Its fourteen-member regions cover the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Pacific Islands.
