WASHINGTON D.C. (May 9th, 2022) – The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) has launched the first bi-annual Filipino American Survey conducted by NaFFAA’s research team in conjunction with the Empowering Pilipino Youth through Collaboration (EPYC) Ambassadors. The Filipino American Survey is the first of many steps toward a better understanding of how to better empower the fast-growing Filipino community in the United States.

Filipinos are the third largest of the Asian Pacific Islander (API) groups in the U.S., with a population of 4.2 million in the most recent Census count. The Filipino American Survey is the first of its kind in the Filipino community. The survey seeks to capture data about the Filipino community in the United States primarily around the topics of Civic Engagement, Advocacy, and Leadership or Community. NaFFAA aims to better understand the priorities, needs, and perspectives of the Filipino-American community on several key issues such as COVID-19, the presidential election, midterms, and Asian hate. A final report will be published during the celebration of Filipino American History Month in October.

The survey deployed on May 2nd and will continue through to June 12th, 2022. NaFFAA is partnered with several community organizations to help distribute the survey, including APIA Vote, FilAm Vote, FilExcellence, and others.
