NaFFAA Virginia Civic Engagement Organizers (Paid)

Minimum of 4 hrs per day on either Saturdays and Sundays

The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) is looking for organizers for our regional Filipino American Vote (FilAm Vote) program in Northern Virginia. NaFFAA is a non-profit, non-partisan organization. We envision a unified Filipino American community that is culturally, economically, and politically empowered and engaged.  Established in 1997, NaFFAA has been the standard bearer for promoting the welfare and well-being of the 4 million Filipinos and Filipino Americans throughout the United States.

Help us reach our goal of registering 100 Filipino Americans to vote and participate in the November 2018 Midterm Elections!

What’s expected:

  • Two organizers will staff 4-8 hour shifts located at Filipino American groceries/markets in Springfield, Falls Church, Arlington, and McLean, VA between the hours of 10am – 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays until the Virginia October 15 voter registration deadline.

  • Volunteer for our National Voter Registration Day (September 25).

  • Organizers will receive a formal training on voter registration and be certified to register voters in the state of Virginia.

  • At the beginning and ending of each shift, you will need to pick up and drop off your tabling / voter registration materials.

  • Enthusiastic about civic engagement for Filipino Americans

  • A car/reliable mode of transportation a plus (but not necessary, can coordinate pick-up at a Metro station)

  • Conversational Tagalog (Filipino) is a plus
