Candice Handjojo


Candice is a Research Assistant at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) in San Mateo, CA and is a remote intern for the National Federation of Filipino American Association (NaFFAA). Her primary responsibilities at AIR include conducting site visits and observations; performing qualitative analysis; and writing reports for federal and state clients. In her role as an intern with NaFFAA, Candice drafts Press Releases; compiles the organization’s news and media mentions; and collaborates with partner organizations in the creation of a Fil-Am organization database across the country. Previously, she interned at the U.S. Department of Education and serviced as an AmeriCorps VISTA tutoring homeless students in Los Angeles’ Skid Row. Candice graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Public Policy. While at UC Berkeley, she participated in her school’s Multicultural Community Center (MCC), student government, and transfer community; all while advocating her AAPI roots.

In her free time Candice likes to take light jogs, listen to podcasts, and watch cooking competition shows.
