Uniting Filipino Americans for rapid, verified disaster response, #FilAmAlerts raises nearly half a million pesos in a few weeks since relaunch
Program Relaunch
In response to recent typhoons and earthquakes affecting communities across the Philippines, the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) proudly relaunched the FilAm Alerts Program—a strengthened, data-driven disaster response initiative designed to unify the Filipino American community during critical moments. This relaunch reinforces NaFFAA’s commitment to timely action, verified information, and transparent humanitarian support.

Funds Raised & Community Support
Within weeks of its official relaunch, NaFFAA FilAm Alerts raised nearly half a million pesos, demonstrating the generosity and solidarity of our community. We extend our sincere gratitude to our partner organizations and chapters whose leadership made this possible, including NaFFAA Colorado, the Filipino American Community of Southern Colorado (FACSC), and the NaFFAA Rocky Mountain Region.
Why FilAm Alerts Works
Today’s rapidly intensifying disasters require response systems that are unified, data-informed, and community-driven. FilAm Alerts addresses long-standing challenges of fragmented information and decentralized fundraising by centralizing communication, verification, and reporting. Through real-time monitoring and a structured donation framework, community compassion is transformed into coordinated action—ensuring resources reach verified, high-need areas efficiently.
Partnership with PDRF
The relaunch is strengthened by an enhanced partnership with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), the Philippines’ premier private-sector disaster response network. PDRF’s Operations Center in Clark, Pampanga provides real-time monitoring of hazards, ensuring all FilAm Alerts bulletins and mobilizations are verified and synchronized before dissemination.
Initial Impact
The first wave of donations has already delivered results. In Talisay, Cebu, 50 rolls of tarpaulin were provided to the City Government to support approximately 200 displaced families relocating to a temporary tent city. Additional funds are being allocated to support a multi-purpose facility at Biasong Elementary School, following damage to makeshift classrooms. A detailed follow-up report will be shared with donors.

Fifty (50) rolls of tarpaulin turned over to the City Government of Talisay from the first batch of FilAm Alerts donations. Procured through pooled funding, including support from NaFFAA, these tarps will help protect approximately 200 families relocating to a tent city after their former communities were declared no-build zones.
Makeshift classrooms at Biasong Elementary School in Talisay, Cebu were severely damaged, leading school authorities to request a multi-purpose facility that can safely accommodate classes, community activities, and future needs as part of ongoing recovery efforts.
